SUMMARY

The Manager, Digital Design is expected to be a contributing member in the creation and delivery of strategically sound concepts while providing oversight and creative direction to a team of digital designers who are tasked with delivering content for eCommerce, web, social and beyond. As a member Studio38, the Company’s in-house agency, this role works in close collaboration with Content Producers, copywriters and other designers to develop creative outputs for a variety of digital media formats, cross-channel content, and responsive web design. This role requires an ability to successfully interpret creative briefs and manage multiple projects from concept through completion. The Manager must utilize background in UX, video production, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Mac platform) software, HTML, HTML5 (animation), CSS to successfully lead the team and also provide hands-on creative development. The Manager, Digital Design must have outstanding attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess strong presentation and verbal skills. This individual will also need the pure desire to stay on top of trends and the vision to bring new platforms and new ideas. Knowledge of Cinema 4D is a bonus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage team of digital designers, guiding compelling creative for Smucker digital channels that includes web content, social media, eCommerce content, eCRM, while following specific brand style guides
  • Understand brand business objectives and strategies to further interpret creative briefs to the team; ensure creative deliverables meet or exceed expectations
  • Build awareness of competitive digital activity, identifying best in class executions and ways that the team can continuously enhance digital production capabilities
  • Collaborate with writers, photographers, videographers and other designers closely on project deliverables; partner with Producers and internal stakeholders to understand and deliver on business objectives and effectively turn around feedback
  • Contribute to department operations, tracking jobs and inputs/outputs in department workflow management tool
  • SELECTION CRITERIA

    Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Experience

  • At least 10 years of design and agency-side Creative Leadership experience is required
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, HTML5, CSS
  • UX experience with understanding of responsive design and/or mobile web best practices
  • Other

  • Ability to meet fast paced deadlines
  • Proficiency in other Adobe creative suite programs such as Illustrator, InDesign and Hype3
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and the ability to understand and use proper web standards
  • Proficient in both keynote and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with proven ability to multi-task
  • Good presenter
